Ten Seconds of Peace

Ten Seconds of Peace

The girls I watch are taking naps; Megan is playing an educational game on the computer in the other room; and Thomas is running around in the backyard, playing out some recent TV show from Nick Jr.

Ahhh... quiet. It won't last... but for now, it is soothing and calming and much-needed!

The kids have a new fun game they like to play, called "Na-na-na-na-na!" The way you play is gather everyone up and start sing-songing that teasing sound you used on your little siblings when you had a treat -- "Na-na-na-na-na!"' Then the grown up (who ALWAYS has to be me, for some reason) has to roar back and mock-chase them around the circuit of the downstairs area. Much screaming and shrieking involved... and of course, the grown up doubles back when you least expect it, or pops out of nooks to surprise you, so that is beyond fun.

I videoed the kids doing it last week, while Meg was at camp, and showed her the snippet with this comment: "Now you'll see what I got to put up with all week long!" She thought it was highly amusing, and I can already see her trying to figure out how to unite the kids in a counter-attack on me....

Bring it on, kidlets! I've had a few moments of peace, and I'm ready for whatever you can dish out!!!
