talk about talent!

talk about talent!

The First Annual Windsor Creek Talent Show was last night, and it was VERY impressive! These second and third graders had some amazing talents that they showcased for the thrilled audience, and even the stuffy heat couldn't detract from the show!

There were several kids who blew us away with musical talent, including a couple of piano playing virtuosos and a violin wonderkind. There were some amazing dancers, both solo and in groups. There were some fine displays of athletic prowess in jump-roping and hula-hooping and pogo-sticking (yes, re-read those several times, I know whereof I speak, trust me!)...

My daughter missed the notices to show up for rehearsals, so she was a dark horse going into the production. The emcee was KZST's morning show's co-host Debbie Abrams, whose daughter was in the show, too. When Megan got introduced, the talent listed was rather obscure -- she'd be performing the National Anthem, by clicking. Debbie was intrigued, and she bade everyone to listen, because she'd never said these words before, to her recollection.

Then Megan took the stage.

Without a microphone, without accompaniment, without a hitch -- she clicked her little heart out!

The crowd went wild!!

Debbie said, "That kid is going to Hollywood! To be able to do that, and to showcase that, WOW! Hey, Mrs. LeRoy, I want to talk to you! We need to get Megan on our radio show! That is definite talent, there!"

So we went up after the show, and gave Debbie our number. She's going to call Megan and tape her clicking, and put her on the show.

Yes, I'm proud. Yes, I'm amazed. Yes, I'm laughing... all the way to wherever this shall take us! Do I hear Hollywood, baby? LOL
