Old Hair, New Hair
Old Hair, New Hair
I went to my new favorite hair salon today, and had another fabulous haircut from my new favorite stylist.
It is a new salon to me, because I only found it by accident last time I needed my hair cut. (I had looked online for the walk-in place I remembered on a corner of a local strip mall, and instead made an appointment for a real live salon at the other end of the same mall. By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late to cancel, so I sucked it up and went on in... and loved it!)
The last time Lacey did my hair she did one of those hot iron things to it, smoothing it all out. I went straight to work, walking around the tables as a yard duty, and the kids were so funny about my new look -- "Hey! You cut your hair! You don't look like you!" "Did you cut your hair? I thought so." "I like your hair, Yard Duty. You look pretty!"
Today I got a cute bob with bangs, sort of Katie Holmes-ish. Once again Lacey straightened the hair, making it all smooth and cute, and I left feeling very cute indeed.
At lunch the adults were exclaiming how cute it was, and several kids, did, too. One little girl came running up and said, "Hey! We have the same haircut!" I bent down, and sure enough, she was a first grade Suri to my Katie. I asked the kids at the table, "So, what do you think? Do we look alike?"
One girl stood up, totally excited. "Hey! I know who you look like! Willy Wonka! You know, with the candy factory? Yeah, him!"
So I either look like Katie Holmes or Johnny Depp... either way, I feel darn cute.
